Ash Wednesday Service
Ash Wednesday and the season of Lent are right around the corner. This year, our in-person Ash Wednesday service will be held on Wednesday, February 17th at 7pm in the main sanctuary. All of our Covid precautions will be in place including temperature checks, mandatory masks, social distancing, and hand sanitizer.
The use of ashes as a sign of repentance has a long history in Jewish and Christian worship, and the Imposition of Ashes can be a powerful way of participating in the call to repentance and reconciliation. This year, due to Covid, our craft group has created burlap squares with an ash cross on the front. These will be passed out in lieu of the imposition of ashes in order to practice social distancing and reduce the threat of exposure. Each person in attendance will receive a burlap cross of ashes.
We invite you to participate in this meaningful service as a way of entering into the season of Lent as we draw close to Christ through the video series The Chosen. During Lent, each episode of the Chosen can be watched free of charge on Youtube and will coordinate with Pastor Carrie’s message on Sunday morning.
Won’t you join us as we Grow Deeper Together during the season of Lent.
