Women of Hope
Women of Hope is part of the United Methodist Women (UMW), whose purpose statement is: United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church in the in the United States and around the World.
Women of Hope is a group of ladies committed to serving our church and community. During this
pandemic we have continued to meet and work – hosting monthly food drives to benefit the Westfed and Elizabethtown food pantries, providing sandwiches monthly to Our Daily Bread, continuing to assist the participants and alumni of the Hamilton County Change court and coordinating a last-minute need for gifts for children at St AL’s. We meet monthly through zoom on the fourth Tuesday at 7pm. All women are invited to join this active and amazing ministry! Please send an email to Vicki Groh at if you would like to be added to the zoom invite or would like more information.

Fall Women’s Retreat
This weekend program is usually scheduled in November.
Sometime in early 2018, the women of CUMC decided to restart the United Methodist Circles. It was decided to have 2 circles of women—one that meets during the day and the other in the evenings.
We met the first time on March 6th, 2018 and formed the Lydia Circle. Sixteen ladies attended the first meeting. We have met once a month since then. Our meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 2 pm.
In our first year, we were very busy with meetings involving City Gospel Mission, The Bethany House and the Linus Group. We donated money to CGM, held a shower for babies and household items for Bethany House and made numerous blankets for the Linus Group. It is our goal to continue help with these charities and more.
UMW circles are encouraged to create a community of women to know God and create support and fellowship for each other. Participation in local and global ministries to help those women that cannot help themselves is always discussed in our meetings. Each meeting also includes prayers and devotions for women in ministries—local and international.
Social time is also important with us. After each meeting we take the time to talk and enjoy snacks and drinks provided by 2 members. We also go out to eat every June and December.
Current leaders Linda Schumacher (245-0898) and Bobbi Ostermeyer (662-2841) may be called with any questions.
